love actually analysis

Starts with happy feel good music. it uses high lighting to show a feel good movie. Voice over talks about love which suggests a romantic comedy. Introduces director and tell what he’s done via a voice over. the voice over lasts for the whole of the trailer talking us through the characters and the plot. in the middle of the trailer the major characters are shown Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley. Romantic music in the middle when the characters are introduced and they are show in pairs. Happy, fun, fasted paced music then plays towards the end of the trailer. They use a lot of stereotypes, with makes the film easy to relate to as there are a lot of characters.

xmen starts of with 20th century fox. explains about mutants (science fiction) and how humans are uneducated about them. it explains the back story so that the audience know whats going on. the titles dont come in till later in the trailer to grab the audiences attention.introduces the characters in the first half of the trailer, they introduce the the goodies first badies after. clips get faster towards the end so does the music to get the audiences heart rate up. the music is mysterious to give the feeling its from another world/time. music speeds up as the action speeds up.

the ring analysis

The ring jumps straight into the action drawing people in showing a few random images that we assume are on the video that the creepy girl in the back ground is talking about. The voice over is the major thing that drew me straight in to the trailer as the images didn’t make sense to me before and I didn’t really know what was going on. After the girl has finished explaining the film the titles pop up and slow but creepy music starts playing. The next part of the trailer shows the characters and there personalities. After the main character watches the film there is a strange child like voice on the phone say in that she will die in 7 day. Her boyfriend isn’t convinced and watches the film bring more people in to action. During the end of the trailer the music speeds up and you find out more about the main little boy who is drawing strange images and has some sort of connection to the little girl that is in the movie. The action increases and the different clip play in a faster succession. The trailer end with the main character screaming. Leaving the audience wanting to know what she was screaming about.

The Expendables audience analysis

The Expendables is an action movie that mainly targets younger adults around the age of 16-25. The trailer jumps straight in to the action to grab the audience attention leaving the titles till later. Within the first 30 second the audience is able to see the big name that are in the film like Statham and Stallone. There’s also a damsel in distress which draws men in. The action properly starts at the end of the trailer to leave the audience wanting more. First half of the trailer shows and develops the characters so the audience can relate to the characters. Starts with a voice over explaining the history of the characters. The voice is deep and mysterious which suggests it’s an action from the beginning. Music speed up when the action starts near the end of the film.

In the middle of the trailer the music slows down to sad music as they explain that there contact was taken hostage and they must save her.
